I’m in London this evening for Tim Lawrence’s ‘Life And Death On The New York Dance Floor 1980-1983’ book launch at The Institute Of Light, which is hosted by Pages Of Hackney. I’ll be talking to Tim about his hugely impressive, highly informative, often deeply emotional excavation of New York nightlife in the early ’80s. I blogged about it recently:

There’s a great buzz around the book’s publication, with the Hackney talk soon selling out, prompting a trio of further talks in November:
Mon 21st: Liverpool / Baltic Social

Wed 23rd: Manchester / Refuge

Sat 26th: Walthamstow / Waterstones

All of these venues have limited capacity, so I’d advise you move quickly if you want to secure tickets.
Some proper history in those pages.
